ABOUT US

TeatroLAB Madrid begins a new chapter: the creation of a permanent repertory company that connects training, research and stage production within a single working system.

For more than ten years, the project has developed workshops, laboratories and creative processes centered on the actor’s work. From this journey have emerged productions such as Our Town, Gross Indecency, Spanish Tragedy, Cuatro corazones con freno y marcha atrás, Ding Dong, Jubileo and Robots, as well as collaborations in productions that have been part of the commercial theatre circuit, including Burundanga, El Nombre, Berlín Berlín and Bestseller.

This new stage establishes a clear path: training, laboratory and company.

The process begins with the regular training of actors and actresses, continues through stage creation laboratorieswhere new projects are developed, and culminates in the production of performances that become part of the company’s repertory.

The aim is to build a structure that allows continuity in the work of actors, actresses and other performing arts professionals, while also functioning as a real pathway into the professional theatre world.

TeatroLAB Madrid brings together performers, playwrights and stage creators around a shared idea: to train, create and produce within a system that dignifies artistic work and connects scenic research with the professional stage.

The project is directed by Gabriel Olivares.

The TeatroLAB Madrid Company

TeatroLAB Madrid fosters a permanent company whose work is built around four fundamental pillars:

Training
Research
Production
Repertory

These four elements form a continuous structure in which each phase feeds the next.

Training develops the actor’s language.
Research generates new scenic materials.
Production transforms those materials into performances.
Repertory allows productions to grow and evolve over time.

In this way, the company articulates a complete process that connects training with the stage.

TeatroLAB Madrid brings together training, research, creation and performance within a single artistic ecosystem.

A space where stage work develops over time and where each process contributes to the construction of a living repertory.

The company’s training and creative foundation is based on Viewpoints and the Suzuki Method, inspired by the work of the SITI Company in New York, led by Anne Bogart, whose innovative and transformative spirit in contemporary theatre we deeply feel connected to.

Among the company’s productions are Gross Indecency by Moisés Kaufman, Our Town by Thornton Wilder, Las Hermanas de Manolete by Alicia Montesquiu, The Spanish Tragedy by Thomas Kyd, and the feature film El Debut, directed by Gabriel Olivares.
